Zakopane Zakopane es una ciudad ubicada en el sur de Polonia, con aproximadamente 28.000 habitantes. La ciudad, a la cual se conoce como la capital de invierno de Polonia, se encuentra en la parte sur de la región de Podhale, a los pies de los montes Tatras a 838 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Se caracteriza por su especial arquitectura, típica de las montañas en este región de Europa.
El folclor del lugar es una muestra de la cultura de las comunidades asentadas en la montañas polacas. Hablan en un dialecto muy especial y tienen preciosos trajes típicos. Además, ofrece en su cercanía diferentes actividades dependiendo de la estación, ya que se puede admirar la naturaleza que la rodea.
Si te encuentras en Zakopane no te puedes olvidar de visitar:
· La calle Krupowka: Es la calle principal de la villa. Aquí está el Museo de los Tratas cuya sede es un estilo arquitectónico único y sus exibiciones sobre flora y fauna de la coordillera son muy interesantes.
· La calle Koscielska: A esta calle también se le podria llamar el museo de la arquitectura de las montañas polacas, ya que tiene una variedad de edificios de estilo dignos de admiración. Entre ellos se encuentra la “Antigua Iglesia” que data de mediados del siglo XIX. Es una estructura de madera con altares tallados, esculturas y pinturas en hielo.
· Las villas de Podhale: contruidas en el estilo arquitectónico de Zakopane.
· El Museo de Stanislaw Witkiewicz: Otra espectacular muestra de la arquitectura típica del lugar.
· La galeria de Wladyslaw Hasior: Esta galeria ha sido abierta en el antiguo estudio del escultor, pintor y poeta Waldyslaw Hasior, donde están expuestas sus obras.
En los alrededores de Zakopane puedes encontrar entre otros:
· El Parque Nacional Tatra: Abarca los Tatras polacos y el parque adyacente en Eslovaquia está en la lista de la reserva de la biosfera mundial de la UNESCO. Hay una gran variedad de rutas para escalar rodeadas de lagos, valles, cascadas, y cuevas.
· Pinos Piñoneros de color blanco, los cuales toman un color violeta en la primavera y son parte de la vegetación típica de la región tatra. A esto se le debe añadir la presencia de cabras montesas, linces y águilas que viven en la parte más alta de las montañas. En las partes más bajas se pueden ver ciervos o preciosas ardillas y , ocasionalmente en la distancia, podras encontrarte con un oso.
· Morkie Oko (Ojo Marino). Este lago a 1395 metros sobre el nivel del mar es uno de los lugares más visitados en los Tatras, ya que sus aguas tienen un color verdoso y una transparencia inigualable hasta 15 metros de profundidad.
· Siklawa es la cascada más grande con una altura de 70 metros.
· Kasprowy Wierch: Se encuentra a 2000 metros de altura y se puede llegar a la cima por medio de un teleférico en tan solo 20 minutos. Desde allí hay una vista dificil de igualar sobre la región.
